James S. Gordon, MD

James S. Gordon, MD, a Harvard-educated psychiatrist, is internationally recognized for using self-awareness, self-care, and group support to heal population-wide psychological trauma. He is the founder and executive director of the nonprofit The Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington, D.C., a clinical professor at Georgetown Medical School, and was chairman (under Presidents Clinton and GW Bush) of the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy.

 

 

William W. Li, MD

William W. Li, MD, is a world-renowned physician, scientist, speaker, and author of EAT TO BEAT DISEASE – The New Science of How Your Body Can Heal Itself. He is best known for leading the Angiogenesis Foundation. His groundbreaking work has impacted more than 70 diseases including cancer, diabetes, blindness, heart disease, and obesity.

 

 

 

 

 

Rhonda V. Magee, MA, JD

Rhonda V. Magee, MA Sociology, JD, is a Professor of Law at the University of San Francisco and an internationally-recognized thought and practice leader focused on integrating mindfulness into higher education, law, and social change work. A prolific author, she draws on law and legal history to weave storytelling, poetry, analysis, and practices into inspiration for changing how we think, act, and live better together in a rapidly changing world.

 

 

 

 

 

Graham McMahon, MD, MMSc

Graham McMahon, MD, MMSc, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The ACCME sets standards for high-quality continuing medical education (CME) that improves physician competence and performance and contribute to healthcare improvement for patients and their communities. As President and CEO, Dr. McMahon leads efforts to strengthen the role of accredited CME as a strategic resource to public health initiatives on the national and international level. Dr. McMahon serves as an endocrinologist in practice in Chicago and an Adjunct Professor of Medicine and Medical Education at Northwestern University.

 

 

 

David Rakel, MD

Dr. Rakel was the founder and director of the University of Wisconsin Integrative Medicine Program where he was awarded tenure in the department of family medicine at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health in 2010. Dr. Rakel is co-editor of the Textbook of Family Medicine (8th and 9th eds), Editor of Integrative Medicine (1-5 eds), co-editor of Conn’s Current Therapy and editor-in-chief of Primary Care Practice Update. He is author of a book on the power of the therapeutic relationship titled, The Compassionate Connection (WW. Norton Publishing). He has received NIH funding to study the ‘clinician effect’ and to incorporate healing modalities into medical school curricula. He has been awarded a number of teaching awards, the Leonard Tow Faculty compassion award, and has been elected to the Gold Humanism medical society. Dr. Rakel is now the Professor and Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
