Call for Abstracts
The Symposium Call for Abstracts Submission site is now CLOSED.
The Integrative Medicine & Health Symposium and Members Meeting will be held in Chicago, IL from February 28 - March 2, 2023. We hope you will not only attend but also contribute your depth of knowledge and expertise by submitting an abstract proposal centered around the theme of Advancing Together: Meaningful Connection and Strategic Collaboration.
Types of Abstracts
1) Traditional research abstracts based on original clinical and translational studies, individual case studies or case reports (5 or fewer patients), systematic reviews or meta-analyses, clinical practice guidelines, etc.

The Symposium will accept abstracts for oral, poster, and performance-based presentation consideration. The Symposium call for abstracts closed on September 28, 2022 at 11:59pm PT. Abstracts are organized under the following topic areas listed below. Submissions corresponding with this year's Symposium theme are more likely to be awarded an oral presentation.

Bioenergetic Therapies (e.g. Reiki), Chiropractic and Osteopathy, Conventional Exercise and Movement Therapies (e.g. walking or balance training programs), Health Coaching and Behavioral Interventions, Herbal Medicines, Homeopathy and Flower Essence or Aromatherapy, Massage and Manual Therapies, Mind-body Therapies including MBSR, Tai Chi, Yoga, Qigong, and other Meditative Techniques, Naturopathy, Nutrition and Diet, Supplements, Vitamins/Minerals, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kampo, Tibetan Medicine, Ayurveda or other Traditional Medical Systems, Evidence-based Medicine, Interprofessional Education, Clinical Guidelines, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Dissemination and Implementation, and Translational Research.
Submission Deadline
The Symposium Call for Abstracts closed on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
Submission Information
- The presenting author is expected to register for the Symposium by December 9, 2022.
- Scientific abstracts must present original data.
- Abstracts will be evaluated on the data included in the submission and need to be based on available data. Statements such as "data will be available for the meeting" will typically lead to rejection of an abstract.
- Accepted abstracts will be selected for a 15-minute oral presentation (10-minute presentation with 5 minutes Q&A), a poster presentation, or performance (e.g., dance your PhD, skit, poem, song etc).
- Abstracts are presented by an individual, typically the submitting author.
- Acknowledgement of receipt of abstract will be sent to the presenting author's email upon completion of submission.
- Symposium registration includes submission of up to two (2) abstracts. Additional abstracts will be billed at $50 each.

Status Notification
Notification of your proposal status will be sent by Friday, November 14, 2022. Please hold the dates of February 28 - March 2, 2023, until you are notified of the status of your submission.
Submission Requirements
Submissions MUST include the following information:
- Contact information for all presenters involved in the session being proposed.
- Session title (maximum of 150 characters)
- Abstracts are limited to 2,000 characters and must include the following information: Objective, Methods (for a performance this must relate to the method of the performance, e.g., dance, poem, song, etc.), Outcomes, Conclusion.
- All submissions must be made through the Call for Abstracts website.
- Submission must include demographics information for the Presenting Author.

- Scientific quality
- Theme representation
- Appropriateness of the format
- Relevance to research in integrative medicine and health
- Number of presentation slots available
Abstract Terms & Conditions
By submitting an abstract, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:
- Accepted presenters do not receive compensation or reimbursement of expenses for presentation at the Symposium.
- All presenting authors must register and pay to attend the Symposium.
- If selected, presenters agree to adhere to the schedule established by the Symposium and comply with all requirements set forth by the Academic Consortium.
- All accepted presenting authors will be required to submit a CME disclosure form prior to presenting at the Symposium. Failure to submit the disclosure form within the specified timeline may result in the withdrawal of the abstract presentation. More details will be provided upon proposal acceptance.
- Each submitter may submit up to two abstracts at no charge. Additional abstracts will be billed at $50 each.
