CME Accreditation


Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine has designates this ive activity for a maximum of 9.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. CME credits are available for purchase at the time of registration for $55. CME hours are based on content eligibility and not all sessions may award credit. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The CME credit is given for attending the live sessions only.

Accreditation Statement

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine & Health. Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.


Disclosure Statement

The policy of the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine CME Program (CWRU) requires the Activity Director, planning committee members, and all activity faculty (that is, anyone in a position to control the content of the education activity) disclose to the activity participants all relevant financial relationships with commercial interests. Disclosure will be made to activity participants prior to the commencement of the activity. Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine CME Program also requires faculty make clinical recommendations based on the best available scientific evidence and that faculty identify any discussion of "off-label" or investigational use of pharmaceutical products or medical devices.

All other professions may obtain a Certificate of Attendance by following the above instructions. It is the individual's responsibility to check with their professional boards to determine if AMA PRA Category 1 CME CreditTM and the other types of CE that will be offered may be used to fulfill their discipline's Continuing Education requirements.


What other professions can claim ACCME AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM?

  • Nurse practitioners and Registered Nurses: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME (Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education).
  • Physician Assistant: The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) states that the AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM are acceptable for continuing medical education requirements for recertification.
  • Certified Nurse Midwife: The American College of Nurse Midwives has granted reciprocity status for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM issued by providers accredited by the ACCME and relevant to midwifery.

Many other disciplines including but not limited to researchers, PharmD's, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, and social workers request credit memos for re-licensure or recertification. Many societies and credentialing bodies accept the AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM as equivalent CE or CEU as long as the topic is in the applicant's field or discipline. However, it is advisable that if an individual is unsure whether their attendance can be used towards certification or re-licensure they should check with their governing body.
