Travelling to/from Edmonton 

Edmonton International Airport (airport code YEG) is located a 35-minute drive from downtown Edmonton and offers more than 60 daily departures. The airport offers direct non-stop service from Seattle, Minneapolis, Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami and Toronto.  For more information please visit, http://flyeia.com/


Visa Information

It is the sole responsibility of the attendee to take care of his/her visa requirements. Attendees who require an entry visa must allow sufficient time for the application procedure. Attendees should contact the nearest Canadian embassy or consulate to determine the appropriate timing of their visa applications. U.S. citizens will be required to present a valid passport to enter Canada, and do not require additional documentation.

Most countries may require visa applicants to provide a letter of invitation explaining the purpose of their travel. A link to generate a customized meeting letter of invitation can be found in your registration confirmation. Please note that the meeting organizers will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants.


Passport Requirements

A foreign national or alien entering Canada is generally required to present a valid passport and visa or Electronic Travel Authorization unless they are a lawful permanent citizen of the U.S.

 

What makes a passport valid?

  • Does not expire within the date parameters established by the country of issue or travel. Some countries require the passport remain valid for 6 months after date of departure.
  • Has blank pages for immigration stamps, not including the final page of the visa section.
  • Is in good condition, is not damaged or torn
     
Ground Transportation to and from the Airport

The Edmonton International Airport (YEG) is located 31.7 km (19.7 miles) from the Sutton Place Hotel Edmonton. 
 

Ride Sharing Programs

Cost: $45 CAD (will vary based on time of day and demand) 
Time: 40 minutes
Attendees may use Uber to request a ride from the airport to the meeting venue. Lyft does not currently service the Edmonton area. Passenger pickup is located outside of Door 10 of baggage claim. 

 

Taxi

Cost: $60 CAD to Edmonton
Time: 40 minutes
Cab fares to/from the Edmonton Airport usually costs $55 to $65 CAD. A flat rate of $48 CAD is charged by all taxis for travel to Downtown Edmonton. The Edmonton Airport is served by Airport Taxi Service, 24-7 Taxi Line, Co-op Taxi Line, Greater Edmonton Taxi Service and Prestige Limousines. Shuttle

Cost: $18 CAD
Time: 30 – 90 minutes from downtown Edmonton (dependent on number of pick-up/drop-off stops)
Sky Shuttle is a convenient, cost-efficient way to travel to and from the Edmonton Airport and your hotel. Because shuttles make stops at multiple hotels, this is not a direct service. Rides must be pre-booked online or by phone. One-way fare is $18 CAD for adults and $10 CAD for children. Phone 780-465-8515 or visit their website.

 

Car Rental

Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National have car rental facilities in Level 1 of the parkade of the Edmonton Airport.
